Steeldust Hot Honey Cornbread
Add a sweet kick to your cornbread with Steeldust Hot Honey Mix, creating a golden, tender loaf drizzled with spicy-sweet honey for an unforgettable side.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 packet 6666 Steeldust Hot Honey Mix, divided in half
- 3 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups milk
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup honey
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 9” x 13” baking dish.
- In large bowl combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and half of the 6666 Steeldust Hot Honey Mix.
- In medium bowl combine eggs, milk, butter and oil. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 35 minutes or until golden and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Combine honey and remaining 6666 Steeldust Hot Honey Mix in small saucepan. Cook over low heat until hot.
- Using toothpick or skewer, poke holes all over the top of the cornbread. Slowly drizzle honey mixture over cornbread.
- Cool 15 minutes. Cut into squares and serve with butter and additional honey if desired.
